The biggest of these school events are the Ball Games Day, the Sports Day, the school trip, and the much-anticipated School Festival. Here is a general annual schedule of our school’s events:
Month Event What to Expect
4 Entrance Ceremony The entrance ceremony is held to formally welcome new students to the school community and to mark the beginning of a new school year.
4 Meeting Upper Classmen Organized by the Student Council, this event provides opportunity for the upper-class students to welcome the new students to the student community as well as to introduce the school events and the school song.
5 Physical Examination Students undergo a series of physical examinations including electrocardiogram, X-ray, vision, and hearing tests.
5 School Agriculture Day At this event, we introduce the Future Farmers of Japan Federation (The Japan School Agricultural Club) to our new students. This organization aims to foster scientific, social, and leadership skills among members of agricultural clubs across Japan.
5 Teaching practicum Kamo Nourin Alumni who want to become teachers in the future do their practice teaching at their alma mater.
6 Sports Festival (Ball Games) A day of fun, unity, and sportsmanship where classes compete against each other in sports events like volleyball and basketball.
8 Open Campus For a few days in summer, we open our campus to junior high school students and introduce our school, our curriculum, and our different departments.
9 Internship Extending the boarders of our classroom into the real world, our second-year students take internship opportunities in line with their prospective industry.
10 Open Campus Experience For a day, we open our campus and our workshops to junior high school students and offer hands-on experience in any department that they choose.
10 Emergency Drill Students practice essential life-saving techniques to respond safely during emergencies such as earthquakes and fire.
11 Sports Festival(Physical Games) Students form teams according to their grade level. There are ball throwing, rope skipping and relay races Strengthening class ties.
11 School Festival(Cultural Festival) Kamo Nourin’s School festival is a three-day event that showcases our students’ creativity, talents, and craftsmanship. The last day of the festival is made open to the public, and the local community can enjoy shopping, eating, and watching performances prepared by our students and staff.
12 Flower and Plant Sale Taking pride in our school’s vibrant, beautifully handcrafted and high-quality flower products, this day is open for the local community to purchase Kamo Nourin’s wide variety of flowering plants.
12 Art Appreciation Day On Art Appreciation Day, students witness live performances by professional artists in music, theater, or classical performing arts to grow their love for the arts during their impressionable years.
1 School Trip Every year, our students go on an educational trip to grow their appreciation of Japanese culture and history. In recent years, Okinawa has been the destination for our school trip.
2 Research Presentation Contest After weeks of hard work and dedication to their chosen project, selected Kamo Norin students present their research in front of the school assembly. After all the presentations, awards are given to the best research projects of the year. 2025’s winning research project was about “Exploring the Potential of Fragrant, Expanding Flower Yeast – Isolation of Locally Derived Flower Yeast and Its Application to Bread and Craft Beer”
3 Graduation Ceremony Commonly held during the first day of March, the graduation ceremony is one of the most important events in our school calendar. Graduating students receive their diplomas wearing corsages made by our Horticulture and Distribution students. Students, parents, and staff come together to witness this milestone event.
3 Farewell Ceremony The school community bids farewell to the teachers and staff who have completed their service to Kamo Nourin. The teachers and staff give their farewell messages in front of the school assembly during the ceremony.
