The first general course high school in Gifu Prefecture
with a credit-based system towards graduation
“Love of Learning"
"Simplicity and Fortitude"
"Respect and Friendship”
Kakamigahara Nishi Senior High School is Gifu Prefecture’s first credit-based
high school with a general course. In a credit-based high school students
have the following advantages:
@ More than half of the classes have reduced the student numbers for a
more intimate learning atmosphere.
A The classes are formed according to the students’ individual levels of
academic achievement of three
subject areas such as Japanese Language, Mathematics and English.
B The optional classes related to their future career course are also available.
The school atmosphere is very academic. More than ninety percent of Kakunishi’s graduates go on to four-year colleges or two-year junior colleges. Students are expected to study steadily and prepare for college entrance examinations.
Our school tradition is a very open and energetic one. Many of the school events, such as the Culture and Athletic Festivals, are highly supported by voluntary student activity. Led by the student council and executive committee, they are a great success every year. What makes our school particularly attractive is that students value Kakunishi’s wide variety of club activities and school events, while maintaining high standards of education. This sets the scene for developing broader interests and meeting life-long friends.
